In 2008, George Lucas and Dave Filoni opened up the world of Star Wars like it had never been done before by telling stories that stem directly from The Clone Wars that were first mentioned in the original Star Wars film in 1977. In 2005, fans finally got a glimpse of the clones, but the war was completely glossed over. For just over five years, the story was fleshed out in a 3D animated series “The Clone Wars.” Now, the next chapter is currently streaming on Disney+ and the galaxy is watching. REWATCH RECAP S7E1 The Bad Batch “Embrace others for their differences, for that makes you whole.” Rex and Cody recruit Clone Force 99, the Bad Batch to help take down Admiral Trench S7E2 A Distant Echo: “The search for truth begins with belief.” Rex believes Echo may still be alive and it is up to the Bad Batch to find him. S7E3 On the Wings of Keeradaks: “Survival is one step on the path to living.” Echo, Rex and Anakin must escape with the Bad Batch out of a Separatist base. S7E4 Unfinished Business: “Trust placed in another is trust earned.” The Republic brings down Admiral Trench. S7E5 Gone with a Trace: “If there is no path before you, create your own.” Ahsoka must find herself in the lower trenches of Coruscant. S7E6 Deal or No Deal: “Mistakes are valuable lessons often learned too late.” A deal with the Pyke Syndicate goes sour when the crew dumps the spice. S7E7 Dangerous Debt: “Who you were does not have to define who you are.” Ahsoka learns about the Martez sisters’ past while trying to escape. S7E8 Together Again: “You can change who you are, but you cannot run from yourself.” Ahsoka is pulled back in to the galactic conflict and her jedi past. S7E9-12 The Siege of Mandalore: Ep: Old Friends Not Forgotten, Phantom Apprentice, Shattered, and Victory and Death. As Ahsoka leads a siege on Mandalore and capturing Maul, Anakin falls to the dark side and Darth Sidious executes Order 66. CONNECTING THE CANON Throughout the series we see characters like Caleb Dume, Ursa Wren and Gar Saxxon who all appear in Star Wars Rebels. The events of the finale cross over with “Revenge of the Sith” showing multiple points of view that aren’t seen in the film. The first eight episodes had already been put in production and released to the public, however some small things did change from the original versions. BEST OF THE BATCH The best arc of this season is obviously the Siege of Mandalore. It was made to feel like a movie, and it ties in perfectly with “Revenge of the Sith.” The four-episode conclusion brings us to the end of the Galactic Republic and into the Empire, bridging the gap between Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Clone Wars.
