While many have felt the affects of this global pandemic, I in no way want to diminish the hurt that is being felt across the world.
However, we may be seeing the end to movie-going as we know it. Currently, many theatres have reopened in hope that attendance would pick back up, but there seems to be no end in sight for this pandemic and films like "New Mutants" and "Tenet" didn't get the audiences they needed to sustain the big-screen model. Unfortunately, films like "Mulan" and "Soul" have gone to Disney Plus while other blockbusters like "Dune" and "Fast and the Furious" have been pushed back into 2021. This causes trouble for theatre chains like AMC who are treading water with the loans they have taken out to stay afloat. AMC may be the first big theatre chain to go under in 2021 if films like "The Croods 2" and "Wonder Woman 1984" don't attract audiences (though I suspect the latter will be pushed back yet again.)
